Further Government support for small and medium-sized businesses is being made available through the Heart of the South West Growth Hub’s Growth Support Kickstart Grant Scheme.
This comprises a fund of almost £750,000 with £336,314 earmarked for the tourism sector and £411,050 for remaining eligible businesses.
Grants of between £1,000 and £3,000 will be offered to enable as many businesses as possible to benefit. Grants offered will cover 100% of eligible costs, which can include special consultancy and minor items that are an adaption or adoption of new technology that supports the day-to-day operation of the applicant business.
As grants can be used to purchase goods and / or services, applicants must provide detailed quotations for everything they intend to purchase, including screenshots of catalogue items and confirmation of availability. This is to justify the total amount requested in each application. All items and activities must be delivered within 90 days of grants being approved.
North Devon businesses with fewer than 250 employees are eligible to apply, subject to the conditions on the Growth Hub web site.
Applications cannot be accepted from the following sectors: fisheries and aquaculture; processing and marketing of agricultural products; shipbuilding; schools / school age educational establishments; insurance companies; primary production, coal or steel, synthetic fibres; or banking.
